About
GRIT & Grace Media harnesses storytelling to drive advocacy and community impact - building bridges, shifting systems, and changing lives. Founded on the belief that stories change the world, GRIT & Grace Media connects story and impact, emotion and action, designing programs and tools that foster resilience, understanding, and connection across diverse communities.
Its founder and director, Esther Takac, is a child and adult psychologist, award-winning filmmaker and author, and program developer. A member of the Institute of Community Directors Australia, she collaborates closely with associates who bring expertise across education, health, journalism, community development and intercultural dialogue.

GRIT & Grace Media currently supports two flagship social change programs:
Bridge Builders Social Cohesion Program uses documentary storytelling and facilitated workshops to help participants understand “the other,” hold multiple narratives, and find pathways to conflict resolution. Based on the award-winning documentary The Narrow Bridge, the program has been used in schools and universities, interfaith groups and peacebuilding forums to break down stereotypes and build connection across divides.

My Journey to Hospital Land is an evidence-based program that empowers children and their families during the often-challenging journey through hospital. It offers a skill enhancing roadmap for young patients, resources for parents, and a framework for hospitals to build more compassionate, patient-centred care.
Grounded in trauma-informed preventative care and developed by a child psychologist, the program aims to shift the hospital experience — giving children and families the tools to manage their medical journey with greater confidence, courage and clarity.
